Regardless of the size of problem that you have solved, it doesn't help anyone if they don't know about it. For example, have you ever tried to pull some aluminum foil out of the box and the whole roll comes out. Lot's of fun huh? Especially when it rolls across the kitchen floor.
Believe it or not, the problem was solved a long time ago. If you look closely at the end of the box, there is a place that you push to indent the side panel and retain the roll inside the box. Brilliant! They did it with plastic wrap too!
I have to admit that it isn't a huge problem and the barrier to entry for competitors is low, but creating this solution cost the manufacturer virtually nothing to implement and it could have been promoted as a reason to buy their foil. It probably was an engineer who put the indent in the side panel without even telling marketing. Maybe the marketing department still doesn't know it is there.
Unfortunately, most of their customers are unaware of it.
