Many city and state governments are passing laws that really crack down on a big problem that concerns all of their constituents--drunk driving. Where we live, the recent laws passed are pretty unforgiving. Get pulled over and test over the legal limit ... expect to spend the night in jail. Really tie one on and tip the scales at an extreme DUI level ... its 30 days.
It's a trend and position that is hard to argue with. Those that get pulled over are the lucky ones. For those involved or responsible for lives lost by drunk drivers, its life changing. Anything our governments can do to make the situation safer is a positive. Yet, it's also not hard to imagine finding yourself in that uncomfortable position of knowing that you've had one too many and realize that you are now stuck miles from your home.
What do you do? Leave your car and call a cab? Good move but now you have to find a way back here tomorrow to get your car back. Call a friend? Maybe. Designate someone for the night to handle the driving? Only if you had the foresight to do so. Take your chances and be careful? The prisons are full of folks who thought they could.
If you live in Atlanta, Orlando or Tampa, theres another option ... call Zingo.
Zingo perfectly solves an urgent, pervasive problem for late night party goers http://www.callzingo.com. Simply call their number and for $20 plus $2 a mile, they'll send out a designated driver. Arriving on a Di Blasi folding motorbike that can be stored safely in the trunk of your car, they'll drive you home and then motor back to headquarters on their bike. Problem solved.
Founded in 2005, Zingo has a powerful story behind it. It's founders brought in PX Head to fund and run the company. PX experienced first hand the horror of losing someone close due to drunk driving. He told his story recently to Daryn Kagan, view it here: http://www.darynkagan.com/business/stories/bu_070320_secondchancezingo.html. The company also owns Budweiser as a sponsor in an alliance with their Consumer Awareness and Education programs.
Zingo has found an unresolved market problem and built a growing business as a result with a service that 'so perfectly solves a problem that it seems to sell itself'. Being socially aware and timely were not accidents, they were the core of the solution. The folks at Zingo were tuned in!
